Vlog – Race Recap

Thomas has always been an active outdoors person with a love for adventure, a passion for sport and a strong belief in leading by example.

He is an extremely humble person who believes that with the power of God all things are possible. Giving back to those that are less fortunate is a way for him to say thanks for the talents he has been blessed with.

Thomas started racing OCR early in 2014, after finishing 2nd on his first race it was clear that he has the potential to excel in obstacle course racing. He took up training at WarriorFit coaching on an OCR specific program which led to 3 straight victories back to back. It was clear that this was his type of sport.

OCR, a new concept to most, is one of the fastest growing sports in SA and the WORLD.

2015 in the USA alone more than 5 million people crossed the OCR finish line. That is 2x more than the marathons and half marathons combined.

This continuous growth and craze led to the establishment of the independent OCR World Championships in 2014.

Thomas has been on top of the South-African OCR scene for the past 4 years.  Performing by far as the most consistent OCR athlete in South Africa.

Thomas has qualified and competed in ELITE devision at World Championships in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017 placing 3 years top 10 ELITE in the world and one Year top 20.

Tiped in 2015 and 2016 as one of the men to watch by international OCR media company. – OCRWC Men 2016   –   Mud Run Guide

With continous hard work and support from his current title sponsor (JeepTeamSA) he has dominated The Jeep Warrior Race. The biggest series in Africa. (More than 8000 particapents per event)

Sole winner of The Beast OCR series as he has won every single event they had put together to date.  This constitutes 13 victories in a row and a record that keeps growing with no man even close to try and match it.

OCR was a part time hobby for Thomas who was working a full time Job as a site foreman for Raubex Housing during the last 3 years. He has now moved on to become a full time Profesional Athlete in 2017. This opens new opportunities for Thomas as he can focus his energy on performing at levels never seen before and increasingly push more time into marketing efforts of his sponsors.

Thomas wishes to be an insperation to all athletes and to shine as an example of chasing and living any dream.

Thomas has become an OCR icon and inspiration for young athletes around the country
As the events are broadcasted on Super Sport.

Thomas has also been building a Coaching brand called WarriorFit

He has held a series of very successful workshops around the country with the latest being held at The Warrior Race venue, the Friday afternoon before the weekends racing.

Offering insight and in to OCR and providing training tips to attendees.

This is a very good platform to promote sponsors on a personal interactive level.

Thomas also does adventure and outdoor photography as a part time practice. This means that he can provide high quality media marketing material of his own or his team mates events and sponsored branding.
