Battle Guide

Virgin Active Warrior #3 | New Salt Rock KZN | 13 July 2024

Warriors, brace for battle.

What does it take to be a Warrior? Show up on Saturday, and you will learn that a Warrior steps out of their comfort zone. A Warrior faces obstacles and fears head-on. A Warrior perseveres and never gives up. And a Warrior never leaves a soldier behind. And most importantly, you will find that you are stronger and braver than you think…

Bring the Whole Crew! While the Warrior Racecourse is for adults, it’s a family event at heart. Let your little adventurers conquer their own challenges in the supervised Warrior Kids Zone, giving you peace of mind to race or cheer on the sidelines.

#BeBrave and get ready for an epic adventure at New Salt Rock!

Rookie

10 YEARS + |
5 – 6 KM |
15 OBSTACLES |
BASIC TO MODERATE FITNESS LEVEL |
2 WATER POINTS |
Rookie is all about fun and comradery. It is the shortest distance with the easiest obstacles. You will be crawling, climbing and jumping your way through the course – running is not even required! The Rookie race is a great opportunity to challenge your friends and colleagues to try something out of the ordinary – and a little bit muddy. Although the main focus is on obstacles that are fun, we have thrown in one or two that will challenge you mentally and physically.

Commando

14 YEARS + |
9 - 11 KM |
22 OBSTACLES |
MODERATE TO INTERMEDIATE FITNESS LEVEL |
4 WATER POINTS |
For those seeking a greater challenge than Rookie and who want to test themselves a little more in terms of endurance, strength and agility, Commando is a good option. Commando places a bit more emphasis on upper body strength than Rookie, but is still easier than Black-Ops.

Teams can still go out and enjoy this challenging category, helping each other through the obstacles and providing a good opportunity for team building.

Black-Ops

18 YEARS + |
12 - 14 KM |
25 - 30 OBSTACLES |
ADVANCED FITNESS LEVEL |
6 WATER POINTS |
Black-Ops is our most challenging category, combining both Rookie and Commando obstacles with the addition of endurance obstacles that involve carrying and dragging heavy objects for set distances. For those who are brave, fit and strong enough, Black-Ops is a good way to test yourself mentally and physically.

No excuses, no mercy, no giving up!
