As you all know, the second COVID-19 wave once again hit the events industry with far-reaching consequences. How does this impact The Warrior Race?

The heart and soul of The Warrior Race have always been that no soldier gets left behind. Warrior competitors are a close-knit community who go out of their way to assist each other over obstacles. We climb over the same obstacles and jump into the same bodies of water, which makes social distancing impossible. The Warrior Race cannot legally proceed under the current COVID-19 regulations where social distancing is key.

No Warrior events will therefore be hosted until the social distancing regulations have been done away with.

We are aware that other obstacle course racing (OCR) organisers are advertising OCR events during this time. In our opinion, it is not possible to safely host an OCR event under social distancing regulations, while at the same time retaining the character and inherent camaraderie which The Warrior Race is renowned for.

But take heart! Warrior 2.0 is under construction. Innovative obstacles, new courses and better layouts are coming your way. We are using this time to brainstorm, innovate and create.

Watch this space!

“In the face of adversity, we have a choice. We can be bitter, or we can be better. Those words are my North Star.”
